Highland is the largest of all the whisky regions, by geography, and incorporates a wide range of styles of malt. The area stretches from Orkney to Arran, and each distillery produces and creates its own unique character of spirit, from light and fruity drams, to big-bodied single malts.

The 2013 release in Glenmorangie's annual Private Edition series of small batch wood experiments, Ealanta differs from its predecessors as it has been full-term matured (rather than finished) in its designer casks, which in this instance are made from heavily toasted new white oak.
