Abhainn Dearg Distillery has produced the first single Malt whisky from Isle of Lewis for almost 200 years, and is the most westerly of the Scottish distilleries.

Abhainn Dearg, (pronounced Aveen Jarræk) or Red River Distillery is a very new distillery in an ancient landscape.

The spirit we produce today might be new to the market, but the philosophy and history of our distilling goes back hundreds of years.

History

Abhainn Dearg Single Malt was launched at the Stornoway Royal National Mod in 2011, also known affectionately as the "Whisky Olympics," and the distillery has now produced a limited edition ready for 2018 - the distillery's tenth birthday!
