Ardbeg Distillery

The Brand

Ardbeg Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, ‘The Untamed Spirit of Islay’, is revered around the world for its unorthodox personality and its big, peaty flavours.

It's been described by Jim Murray as "Unquestionably the greatest distillery to be found on earth."

Ardbeg 10 year old is revered around the world as the peatiest, smokiest, most complex single malt of them all.

Ardbeg Distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Ardbeg on the south coast of the Isle of Islay, the queen of the Inner Hebrides group of islands.

Owner of the brand, The Glenmorangie Company, is one of the prestigious companies that are part of Moët Hennessy-Louis Vuitton.

Ardbeg has been named ‘World Whisky of the Year’ no less than 4 times out of the last 7 years, and owner, The Glenmorangie Company won the prestigious award IWSC Global Distiller of the Year in 2012.

Ardbeg Uigeadail Whisky of the Year 2009

Going further back, in 2009, Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible named Ardbeg Uigeadail ‘World Whisky of the Year’ – in praise of its “utter silky brilliance” and “complexity on a level only a handful of distilleries in the world can even dream of reaching.”
