Whisky Month with Miss Malt

Miss Malt

We are delighted to introduce our second ‘founding blogger,' Lesley Henderson AKA Miss Malt who has kindly offered to help support our collaborative and content driven approach to sharing many more whisky stories.

Lesley is a young, Scottish whisky enthusiast and founder of The Rare Malt Whisky Company. Lesley started her whisky career at Glengoyne Distillery, but decided to set up her own online boutique selling limited edition, exclusive bottles of single malt scotch whisky, such as single cask editions or single release bottlings.

Lesley also hold whisky tastings and pairings to suit a variety of budgets, and blogs as Miss Malt as a way of recording her varied experiences.

Scotland's Whisky Month

In the following vlog, Lesley shares her thoughts on;

  • Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival, including her experience of a private technical distillery tour at Glenfiddich, and her desire to return for the Bacon Roll Challenge and discover the perfect single malt whisky to accompany a bacon roll.

  • Campbeltown Malts Festival, featuring a host of events celebrating the whiskies produced at Springbank, Mitchell's Glengyle and Glen Scotia. Please note: Springbank's open day also includes a dedicated event for Cadenhead's 175th anniversary.
  • Feis Ile, Lesley's favourite whisky festival, including her memories of Bowmore's golden ticket event and Bruichladdich's open day of live music, whisky bar and Botanist Gin tent.
  • Finally, her thoughts on Hunter Laing & Co whisky tasting with the legendary Jim McEwan to mark the start of the construction of Ardnahoe Distillery.

The Old School, Portnahaven, Islay

To conclude, Lesley shares details of her own Feis Ile Whisky and Cheese Tastings at The Old School, Portnahaven's former primary school, which has undergone an extensive restoration to convert it to a 4 bedroom luxury holiday home.
