yamazakura-16yearold-whiskybuys.jpg
This very limited release gets its name from two Japanese symbols; Yama is indeed the Japanese term for mountain, while Sakura refers to cherry-trees, symbolising ephemeral beauty. Matured in Bourbon barrels for 16 years, then transferred to specific tanks and finally back to Bourbon casks again to finish up for a few months. An inviting nose reveals notes of Vanilla, cedar, fruitcake and citrus, while the palate suggests toasted bread, coconut, fig and pear plus a hint of liquorice. Only 1992 bottles of this whisky are available for Europe, making this a highly collectable release. ABV: 40% 700ml
